Chantal and Mike’s Guelph Wedding Adventure

As soon as I walked into Chantal’s room at the Guelph Delta Hotel  and noticed a mug that read “Best Day Ever”, right then and there I knew Chantal and Mike’s Guelph Wedding Adventure was going to be a blast.

Not too often you get an opportunity to photograph the guys as they make the pilgrimage from where they got ready to the ceremony.   It was only fitting to capture the moments as the guys head down Arthur Street and across the foot bridge to the ceremony location at St.Georges Church.

Located on the banks of the Speed River is the beautiful old St. George’s Church.   St. Georges is one of the oldest and largest churches in Guelph, and I love photographing at this church.   Rev. Canon Ralph and Sexton Ron are really great people and fantastic to work with.   Chantal surprised Mike by walking down the isle to a live performance by her Glee Club students.  It was a beautiful ceremony with poems in both French and Italian as well as more entertainment by the Glee Club.   We photographed the Family photos in St.Georges then the wedding party boarded Brentwood Livery’s Limobus to the Albion Hotel for a few beverages and photos.

After leaving downtown Guelph, we headed towards Cambridge and Whistle Bear Golf Club for the awesome reception.   After taking a few chilly sunset photos, we sat down for an awesome meal,  listened to Jazz music and enjoyed Chantal and Mike’s Great Gatsby themed wedding reception party.

It really was one of the Best Days Ever.

Enjoy :)

Would you change anything: nothing, it was perfect!!!

The images in this slideshow were viewed and enjoyed by Chantal and Mike’s guest at their wedding reception. Each Same Day slideshow is selected and edited at the reception during the dinner, and will contain many more images.   We begin the process by downloading our cards then browsing and selecting our favourites.   From there  we  quickly edit each selected image for viewing – there are no special filters, no photoshop, nothing crazy just the images in their purest form. For a better quality show click on the  settings button gearimages  and select 720p quality.  Sit back and Enjoy

Any Surprises: Chantal teaches French and Music and had her Glee club (show choir) come and sing her down the aisle and during the signing of the marriage license.

Mike had no idea!

“Kurt was an absolutely amazing photographer to work with. We had a previous photographer that had left us hanging. Kurt settled all of our previous misconceptions and made us excited for our day. Mike, myself, and our wedding party were veterans with wedding photography and Kurt was by far the best. He was creative, energetic, and kept the day moving. During the reception, Kurt had the brilliant idea of showing the days photos on his mini slideshow. We received so many compliments from this aspects and the untouched images looked absolutely amazing. Thank you so much Kurt for being a memorable part of our big day!”

The Website Evolution

Over the last 5 years the Two Tone Studio’s front page has changed a lot and I thought it might be fun to share the changes.   It has truly come along way from the days of a portfolio site for my personal artwork in 2006.     Also it is neat to see how it started off simple then got complicated with options in 2012.  As the business grew, so did our vast client base and feeling the need to cater to them all.

This year it is our mission to go back to the days of simple.   Our price lists will be simpler to follow,  you might get fewer options but they are of top quality and all of our Enlargements and Albums are made in Canada.    We want to offer only the finest quality products to our clients and spend more time focusing on the core of Two Tone Studios – Creating awesome images for our Wedding, Equestrian, and Portrait Clients.

Thank-you and Enjoy,

PPOC Wedding Photojournalism Accreditation

I recently found out that my PPOC Accreditation submission in the category of Wedding Photojournalistic was ACCEPTED and now we are an accredited member of the PPOC – Professional Photographers of Canada.   I believe this also means that we are the only Studio in Guelph to be accredited for a Wedding Category by the PPOC.     To achieve the Wedding Photojournalistic Accreditation,  I had to submit 5 images from 2 different weddings.   The images must be candid in nature and not posed or prompted in anyway.

The Accreditation process demonstrates that the photographer is capable of delivering above average quality in a chosen Field.   On average only 48% of all entries across Canada submitted for Accreditation will be accepted, so it is pretty awesome to get an Accreditation by PPOC.  PPOC Press Release

Continue to Rock 2013…..

What a way to end the Week.   Apparently our image was selected as a 6th place finisher for the Professional Wedding Photographers of Canada  Fall 2012 Contest in the “Getting Ready” category, and I totally overlooked it until today. click for link   Professional Wedding Photographers of Canada is a collection of some of the best Wedding Photographers and Wedding Photography work in Canada.  To Place in a category is pretty neat.

In addition, Capitol Romance decided to feature Giscelle and Tim’s  Awesome engagement session on their Blog.    click for link  Capitol Romance is a Website dedicated to Weddings and Engagement sessions that are just alittle bit more special and unusual.  They Primarily feature Weddings in the Washington DC area, however if its cool enough they tend to broaden their scope and will publish it.   This is the first time we have had our Wedding/Engagement work featured outside of Canada, and it is pretty neat to see it featured across the boarder.

I hope everyone has a Blast this coming weekend.
